What should I do with the box, the insulation and the cooling elements?

Sustainable disposal of our packaging

To keep our shipping materials in the cycle as efficiently as possible, here is a simple guide to sorting them correctly. Every component matters for a working recycling process.

1. The shipping box (cardboard)

Our box is made of high-quality corrugated cardboard and can be recycled 100%.

  • Disposal: Please flatten the box and put it in the waste paper bin (DE: Blue | AT: Red | CH: Bundle)

2. The insulation (recycled paper)

Our insulation is fully recyclable and is made of recycled paper fibers.

  • Disposal: You can simply dispose of the insulation together with the box in the waste paper bin (DE: Blue | AT: Red | CH: Bundle).

3. The cooling elements

These consist of a plastic casing and a water-based polymer gel. You have two options for disposal:

  • Option a) Separate disposal (ecologically ideal):

    • Carefully cut open the plastic casing.

    • Dispose of the viscous gel in the residual waste (DE: Residual waste | AT: Residual waste | CH: Kehricht).

    • The empty plastic casing belongs in the plastic container (DE: Yellow bin/bag | AT: Yellow bin/bag | CH: Plastic collection bag).

  • Option b) Quick disposal:

    • If separating is not possible, simply dispose of the complete, sealed pack in the residual waste (DE: Residual waste | AT: Residual waste | CH: Kehricht).
